I made the custom background from scratch on photoshop. It involved various blurs and distortions. After, I added noise. The two hands and the logo are from thinkgeek.com. The biohazard sign and image were both found on the internet. They were customized by me, using various blending options. The starburst, smudge, trade mark and copyright symbols were all created using the custom shapes tool. I found the text on dafont.com. I then used overlays and shadows to enhance the font. I used a movie film lens flare to illuminate the darkened top. I also used the spotlight effect to illuminate the product.
